Point'O'Pines Camp on Red Gut Bay, Rainy Lake

Great fishing, Great Fun

Point'O'Pines Camp, Red Gut Bay

Great Fishing

It was 30 years ago that I came to Point'O'Pines Camp for the first time with my wife and kids. Bill would be waiting for us on the dock when we arrived. It would be an hour or so before we'd get to unpack as he would first have to fill us in on the events from the past year. Once the kids were all grown and had left home, I started bringing a small group of friends. Each year one or two more names would be added to the list. There were always enough fish caught for a nightly fish fry as well as trophy fish. The now owners Pete and Karen have become good friends and sometimes join us in a meal and the gathering after to listen to our fish stories and jokes. There are now 15 to 18 friends known as "The Winter Bunch" that join me every May for the Walleye opener at this awesome peaceful place.

We have come to Point'O'Pines Camp for over twenty years. Karen and Pete have been gracious hosts. Each year there have been improvements in the spacious cabins, so the accommodations are excellent. With the short boat ride to the resort, it feels like we are in the remote wilderness. The kitchens are well equipped. The docks are user friendly and our fishing trips have been enjoyable. I would recommend this resort to my friends.

Point'O'Pines Camp is the nicest fishing camp my group has ever been too.  Pete and Karen do a phenomenal job of keeping the property grounds looking beautiful and clean. It's a very relaxing atmosphere to just hang out when your not fishing and it also comes with a game room if you're ever in the mood to play some pool and or shuffle board !  One thing that is often overlooked by other outfitters/fishing resorts is the way cabins are stocked. The cabins at Point'O'Pines include sheets, pillows, shower towels, etc... The kitchen includes all the necessary utensils, pots, pans, etc...which is awfully helpful if you like to bring your own food.

We have been going to Point'O'Pines camp for many years and have loved their facilities. Every year we come back and anticipate great fishing.  We haven't been disappointed yet. Small Mouth fishing is great, along with Walleye and Northerns that are always ready to hit.  Can't wait until next year to do it all again.

I had the opportunity to stay at Point'O'Pines resort for a 5 day fishing trip in June 2013.  We had a large group of 12 and Pete and Karen took care of all our needs.  We stayed in two very spacious and clean cabins. We had all we needed to cook each meal, including a great enclosed grilling area. Our boats were ready each morning with full tanks of gas, life jackets and nets.  This was my first trip to Canada and it won't be my last !  The scenery was spectacular and the fishing was just as good. I hope to be back next summer !
